Right page: Describes the first Catholic church, with Father Meurin, started in 1749, which is now St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, built in 1839; the Vincennes Diocese Bishops, Bishop Chatard, the Cathedral Library, and the French houses; the British possession of the area from 1763, the story of George Rogers Clark arriving to capture the town from the British.
