CONVOCATIONS: Left page: Top left picture: William Worthy, foreign correspondent for TIME, speaks at an Oct. 30 convocation on the implication of the Castro revolution in Cuba before speaking at an Community Series evening program on "Red China Today." Middle picture: Stewart Alsop, journalist and public affairs writer for the Saturday Evening Post, speaking with assembled students about Khrushchev and Russia's Communist movement. Bottom picture: Religious convocation: Dr. Howard Ellis, Secretary of the Methodist Board of Evansville, shows some students a chalk drawing (which he donated to the Student Christian Association) of the famous "Praying Hands." The other two convocations were Judaism, featuring Rabbi Martin Perley of the IU Hillel Foundation and a Louisville synagogue, and Catholicism, featuring Rev. Bosler, editor of the Criterion, the official newspaper of the archdiocese of Indianapolis. Right page: Star performers magnetize enthusiastic crowds. Top picture: Tipton's Music for Tonight, an ensemble of 14 top instruments, performs for the April. 3 Community Series program. Middle left picture: Lawrence Winters, baritone vocalist who performed on Nov. 3. Bottom right picture: Olegna Fuschi, pianist, who performed February 27. In Conclusion: All that remains are the finishing touches - Prom, honors day, graduation - but this year is but one cornerstone of a lifetime, which is the foundation of eternity. We are the builders, using the materials: virtues, learning, integrity.
