Right page: BEANIE TRADITION: The Beanie, symbolizing "a new man on campus," gave the freshmen a new sense of insecurity as they began their first college year. The tradition, introduced by the Student Senate in 1961, began one of many steps towards a more collegiate social atmosphere.
